The Sales Funnel For Effective Online Marketing

Apr 26

The sales funnel is a fundamental part of business and marketing for ages. Recently, it appears to me that the topic of using funnels in Internet business is appearing all over the internet.

People want to learn more about the marketing concept and the ways it could be used in their online business marketing efforts. Read on to learn more on the sales funnel to ensure Internet marketing successful.

What is the Sales Funnel?

A marketing funnel is not an actual funnel. For this marketing concept, "funnel", is used to visualize and explain the entire process of selling. The term"funnel" is a term utilized to define the process of selling due to its more extensive entry point to "Unqualified Prospects" as well as an opening that is smaller for conversions at the bottom.

At the top or entrance to the funnel are those who we may consider as "unqualified prospects"; these are folks who might require your products or services however, you've never contacted them before. After a few sales and promotions, you will have gotten people who have purchased your product or service.

The effectiveness of a lead generation funnel is due to its ability to track the actions of your prospects throughout the expanded sales process. By using the sales funnel to measure the number of prospects who are qualified at each step, you will be able to predict how many potential customers will become actual customers.

The sales funnel allows you to determine where your sales process is not working and where it is being successful. It also helps you determine if your campaign is not reaching enough customers. This will allow you to decide the areas you need to concentrate your efforts and to maintain sales at the necessary level as well as, to achieve your marketing objectives. It is used to monitor and manage the sales process of clients.

The Sales Funnel Top Front - End

Your sales funnel's top is your most active and most crucial part of your sales process. It is constantly tested. Your imagination and resources will only limit the amount of front-end strategies that you could create.

The primary goal of the front-end will be to draw in prospective customers and turn these buyers into buyers down the sales funnel.

When a prospect opts in or subscribes to the product or service you provide, they are "qualified". This is the point in the sales funnel where the prospective customer or "Unqualified prospect" is a qualified lead due to the actions they've taken which show they are interested enough to buy your product.

To make your front-end effective you must be able to bring targeted traffic to your site, blog, or squeeze pages. Article marketing, PPC ads, social media (Google+ Twitter, Facebook, YouTube) banners, and blogging are the best methods and resources to do this.

There are many methods that you can use to "qualify the unqualified prospect". A squeeze page is among the most efficient ways to "qualify" the prospects who are not qualified. It allows you to offer something of value, related to your product or services, that customers can get at no cost or at a significantly discounted cost in exchange for their email address. The products offered vary from video and newsletters to ebooks, e-mail courses, related reports and more.

We can see that the front-end is where people are drawn to your sales funnel. The back-end is what we should be focusing on.

The Bottom or Back-End of The Funnel

The back or bottom of your sales funnel is the place where the majority of profits and sales are made. You will usually find the higher-priced products there. They are all suitable for the same audience, but they are delivered in different formats, such as audio, video and live interactions.

The primary difference between the front-end and back-end is the type of client as well as the cost of the service or product being offered.

While it's true that just a small percent, say 1-2%, from the overall number of folks who enter your front end, will be in the back-end. This is because a select few will invest a greater amount of money.

It is clear that although front-end products or services are priced below $100, back-end products and services are typically priced between the 100s and 1000s. This makes the bottom or back end of the funnel sales funnel to be the main source of income for your Internet company, and it's the most reliable and stable area in this sales process.

As I said earlier, the sales funnel can be customizable as much as your creativity and resources allow.
